Fontana Vecchia (old fountain) is situated in the relatively undiscovered northern Tuscany, which many would say is the most stunning part of this region. Our Tuscany holiday apartment is situated on the edge of a small hamlet known as Sermezzana, which is at the head of a valley, commanding fantastic views towards the coast and the Apuani Mountains.


Originally built in 1789, the apartment has been carefully modernised to retain many original features, but offer self-contained apartments of high quality. The accommodation consists of two separate apartments on ground and first floor, which can be rented separately or together, sleeping 2 and 5. Location & area

Fontana Vecchia in Sermezzana can be found in the very north of Tuscany inland approximately 1 hour from the port of La Spezia. There is a well developed motorway system that connects from all the local airports (Pisa, Genova, Parma), each within 1 3/4 hours drive. Most low cost airlines now fly into these airports from numerous cities around the UK and Europe.



In addition there is an efficient rail network and it is possible to reach the most local station to the apartment approximately 4km. This same line connects to Lucca, Pisa direct. So although we would recommend a car to access the majority of the region, this local railway line can give a welcome break from driving.

All bedding, towels for apartment only, tea towels and kitchen cleaning material etc. are provided weekly. (Please note that beach towels are not included- to be supplied by guests) With advance notice, we would be glad to provide a welcome pack ready in the fridge for your arrival. Payment should be settled with the House Manager on arrival.
