Overview
This rural cottage consists of 3 bedrooms, large sitting room, bathroom and kitchenette. There is an open fire in the dining area and turf and timber is provided for guests at no extra cost. All rooms are centrally heated and hot water is available by either using the oil boiler or lighting the open fire. The house has recently been repainted and refurbished with timber flooring installed in most rooms.

The cottage is located in the middle of the countryside and is about 3km from the nearest town. The local area is a very scenic with interesting and varied coastline and islands, fine sandy beaches, lakes and archaeological remains. Muckish Mountain (2197ft) and Errigal (2466ft) are very popular with climbers and hill walkers. Other nearby attractions include : Ards Forest Park Located 3km south-east of Dunfanaghy, has marked nature trails and is also a wildfowl sanctuary. It covers the northern shore of the Ards Peninsula, the southern shore was taken over by the Capuchin monks in 1930, the grounds of their friary buildings are open to the public. Dunfanaghy Workhouse Workhouses were set up in Ireland, after the passing of the Poor Law in 1838, to accommodate and employ the destitute. Dunfanaghy's workhouse was opened in 1845, just before the start of the Famine. By 1847 is accommodated some 600 people, double the number originally planned. Glenveagh National Park A 10,000-hectare park containing a nature trail through woods of Scots pine and oak, Lough Beagh, the Derryveagh Mountains and Glenveagh Castle, built by John George Adair in 1870. The Glenveagh Visitor Centre, located in the north of the park, has an audio-visual display on the ecology of the park and the infamous Adair, who evicted 244 tenants from their farms in the winter of 1861. Tory Island Daily ferry trips to Tory, located 9 mile off the Donegal coast, leave from Magherroarty pier. Although only 4km long and 1 km wide, the island has 2 towns , Easttown and Westtown. The island features a lighthouse, built in 1832 and a T-shaped stone cross, one of only 2 in Ireland.

Golf courses are located in both Falcarragh and Dunfanaghy. The nearest beach is about 3km away at Ballyness.

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud
It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
