Why not relax in luxury and watch the Killybegs fishing fleet come and go. We offer the very best of four star accommodation in County Donegal. It is just 25 meters from the house to the rocky shoreline of the Atlantic and less than five minutes drive to a beautiful sandy beach and lighthouse.
Many people return to Teachin na Mara annually, in hope to catch a glimpse of the school dolphins, which regularly perform in front of the house. Whether you require a peaceful haven or an action packed adventure, you won't be disappointed.
The house is a romantic blend of the rustic and the ultra modern, combining traditional design and luxury comforts. The sitting room, which has windows on three walls with sea views, is bright and cozy with a large brick fire place and a pot-belly-stove. We have a TV/DVD/VCR/CD Player.
The beautiful oak kitchen has integrated appliances: dishwasher, fridge and freezer, which surround the large wooden table and chairs. There is also a ceramic hob, an electric oven, micro-wave, TV and coffee machine.
You name it, we've got it !
The separate utility room with oak cupboards consists of work space, washing machine and tumble dryer.

Location & area
St. Johns Point is one of Ireland's longest peninsulas, at six miles long. It leads to a beautiful, safe, sandy beach and the point lighthouse. Our house is situated half way down the point and it's name is above the front door. On the point road you pass, the award winning restaurant and bar, Castle Murray House Hotel and a small thatched Weavers Cottage which is still in use today.
From Donegal Town, take the N56, by-pass Mountcharles, go through Dunkineely and take the next left for the point road, which is sign posted, follow this road for three miles and Teachin na Mara is on the left....
If you are to continue on the N56 towards Killybegs, you will pass through Bruckless, a tiny village, with a general store, petrol facilities and a catholic church. A further five minutes drive finds you in Killybegs, the largest fishing port in Ireland. It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.

Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
