Overview

The Gate Lodge is a small friendly family run guesthouse but it has all the comforts and amenities associated with its official 3 star classification. A listed Georgian building, located at the main entrance of the Phoenix Park, (Europe's largest enclosed park), the Gate Lodge is just minutes from Dublin city centre. For the tourist, the world famous Guinness brewery and the Irish whiskey corner are within strolling distance as are the National Museum of Ireland, the Modern Art Museum and Dublin Zoo. For the party lover, Temple bar is within 2km.



Excellent transport links including several buses, the LUAS tram system and a direct bus to the airport. We are a five minute walk from Heuston train Station. Ferry terminals are also a short distance away.



We are ideally located for business trips as the main commercial and banking districts are within a 3km radius.

We strongly recommend GATE LODGE GUEST HOUSE. It is a homely place, with comfortable, tidy and clean rooms, where lodgers receive very kind and professional attention. We were a party of three teachers and three secondary school students, from Madrid, Spain, who travelled into Ireland to take part in a conference of a European educational project. We got stranded by the unexpected closure of the Airspace throughout Europe. We spent five stressful days without knowing when and how we would be able to travel back home. It was an enormous relief that Mr Sheehan safeguarded our rooms for us for an unknown period without any objections. He gave us free access to the Internet and gave us all the information he could gather to help us find any means to travel back home as soon as possible. We are sincerely thankful to Mr Sheehan, his family and his staff for all the kindness and hospitality they displayed to make our stay as easy and comfortable as possible.
