Location & area

The area is a renowned centre for fishing, whether they are interested in trout or course fishing. Lough Key Forest and leisure Park - features a new pioneering Tree Canopy Walkway which gently rises above the woodland floor offering a 'birds eye' view of nature. The innovative Adventure House contains challenging activities and puzzles. The outdoor Adventure Play Zone provides entertaining activities for children of all ages. The estate also contains many trails through the woodlands and forest. There is a very scenic 18 hole golf course less than 10 minutes drive and a 9-hole golf course located about 2 km from the town. Boyle Abbey, King House, The Arigna Mining Experience, the Neolithic cairns of Carrowkeel in the Bricklieve Mountains, Strokestown Park House and The Irish Raptor Research Centre are well worth a visit. Coastline at Strandhill and Rosses point a half hour drive.
