Overview
Juniper Cottage is situated in the Aggtelek National Park in north-east Hungary, in the picturesque village of Tornaszentandrás. This whitewashed dwelling, built in 1897, has a fully-equipped kitchen, dining room, shower, WC, and two bedrooms, which comfortably sleep six. A more recent addition is a solar panel and we are happy to show you how this alternative technology works. The garden has a gazebo, barbecue, swing and a fruit orchard.
From guest soaps to organic cotton bed linen, everything we provide is of the best quality from among the green products available. The veg, meat, cheese, fresh milk and other local produce we provide in our welcome hamper are also, wherever possible, organic.
The low, forested hills and diverse wildlife of the area make it perfect for cycling, XC skiing and walking. Top-quality hire bikes, tandems, child seats and dedicated route maps are on hand to help you explore. Transfers to and from the cottage can be arranged. Finally, we are committed to sustainable tourism and voluntarily donate 10 percent of our revenue to environmental causes.

Location & area
The guesthouse is on the eastern fringe of the Aggtelek National Park in Hungary's Northern Uplands. The area's extensive network of caves, which stretch across the border into Slovakia, are a World Heritage Site. Cave tours are available daily, and the low, karstic hills above ground are perfect for cycling, walking and XC skiing. The peacefulness of this rural area make it particularly well suited to families.
Trains from Budapest run daily, and stop a few kilometres from the guesthouse. Our nearest airport is in Kosice, Slovakia, just an hour away by car, and now reachable from the UK (Luton) direct with SkyEurope airlines.

Amenities & services
While most of our guests choose to self-cater, we offer a flexible service, and home-cooked meals and home-grown produce can be provided.
We use all-organic products from organic cotton towels and bedlinen, to cleaning products and our hand-made guest soaps (probably the best of their kind, from London's Organic Soap Company). The services of an English-speaking guide can also be provided.

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud
It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
