Location & area

Szögliget is a lively village with approximately 1,000 lifelong residents. It's name means 'the nook in the grove', which gives some idea of its rural location amidst forested hills in north-east Hungary's Aggtelek National Park. The area enjoys little motorised traffic, and the low, conical hills that characterise the area conceal countless caves that can be explored with experienced guides, any day of the year.
