An enchanting white-washed Greek country cottage lovingly restored, once the village shop it retains many period features; whole Chestnut beams span the width of this cottage that offers you sheer tranquility in a charming village setting on the island of Zakynthos. Mount Vouno provides a wonderous backdrop with hillside paths to explore; nearby quiet beach coves with stunning views are the perfect escape. The location feels a million miles away from the commerciality of the tourist resorts, though in fact it is readily in reach of all the beautiful south eastern beaches. Local tavernas full of hospiality, a bakery and corner shop are close at hand, with quality fish restaurants and town life a short 10 - 15 minutes drive away.

Location & area

The little white washed cottage nestles in a green and peaceful garden situated on the edge of old Mouzaki village. On the door-step Mount Vouno provides a wonderous backdrop with hillside paths through olive groves and wooded spinneys to explore. A stroll around the friendly village reveals typical local life and marvelous gems like the Church of the Virgin Mary built in 1741 with its spectacular views across the south east island plains. Mouzaki is the perfect base for discovering the island with it's easy access to the islands road network.

Outside the landscaped garden features an old wine press and water well. A decorative tiled BBQ and patio area are just perfect for al fresco dining, while the cottage has it's own private courtyard and seating area; ideal for breakfast.



Bed linen and towels (except beach towels) are provided.



The owner (British) is pleased to prepare full cooked breakfasts and barbeques. Natural history guided walks and island trails arranged on request by the owner, ex Countryside Ranger.
