Location & area

The village of Megalo Chorio is only a small village. It is set on the foot of a hill and many of the houses are abandoned. It was built around an old castle that is set on the top of the hill above the current village. Parts of the walls and the gateway are still reasonably intact and there is also an interesting small church with wall paintings on this site. There are a couple of tavernas and one or two shops in the village, but it is actually quite small. The houses in Megalo Chorio are painted white and parts of an ancient wall can be seen. .
