Overview

The Villa Liakos is a spacious and luxuriously furnished holiday villa inside the old village center of Pighi, some 2 kms from the sea and the nearest sandy beach. A total dwelling space of 140 sqm on two floots splits into 3 bedrooms and one living room.
In 3 air conditioned bedrooms, the house provides a total of 6 beds, and each bedroom also has it's own bathroom. The living room is air conditioned as well and includes a satellite TV set with a large acreen and a DVD player, and an open fireplace.
Opposite to the dwelling house there is 450 sqm garden with a swimming pool and a sun terrace, fruit-trees, flowers, a garden cottage with a small kitchen and a WC, and a king-size barbecue. The villa therefore perfectly suits for those who love extensive garden parties. Sunbeds and umbrellas are available as well, and there is also an outdoor shower.
All bedrooms have large fitted wardrobes and separate air conditioning units which can be switched to heating-mode during chilly nights or in wintertime. In one of the bedrooms there is also an additional open fireplace.
The kitchen equipment is modern and very comprehensive. It includes an electric hob with 4 flames, an oven, an extractor fan, a microwave oven, an integrated refrigerator/freezer, a coffee maker, an electric kettle and a sandwich toaster. In the garden cottage there is an additional refrigerator.
On the more than 15 kms long sandy beach that lines the bay of Rethymnon there are plenty of sports and watersports on offer. This includes volleyball, windsurfing, water skiing, paragliding, sailing, wetbikes, jet skiing, pedaloes and much more.
Bars, discotheques and a colourful nightlife can be found along the bay es well, and all-year in the picturesque Venetian old town of Rethymnon. The Atlantis Dive Center has it's main seat at the Rithymna Beach Hotel (4.5 kms) in Adelianos Campos near Rethymnon.
Marianna's Workshop in the tiny mountain village of Maroulas (2 kms) above Adele is a herb shop where tea-mixtures and oil essences from native plants are on offer, which help to allay many complaints in a natural way. Marianna organizes botanological walks in the village's neighbourhood every Wednesday, where she not only shows the native plants and their habitats but also explains about when which plants can be harvested, and why.
The hippest discotheque in Rethymnon is the SkyPark at Platanias by the Old National Road, just on the junction with the road to Arkadi (4.5 kms). It includes a garden restaurant which is most popular for many years as well (and gave the place it's name), and latterly also an internet cafe.

Location & area

Pighi is a small, peaceful traditional Greek village above the bay of Rethymnon. Inside the village there are some groceries, bakeries, a pharmacy, a butcher's shop, kafenions and tavernas. By the country road to Arkadi there is Kostas' mini markethall where one really can find almost everything. Public busses connect to the city several times per day. The Old National Road from Rethymnon to Iraklion runs close to the beach below the village. There is an hourly public bus service in both directions. Down there at Adelianos Campos the big hotels of the region row up, and during the tourism season a variety of shops and restaurants are open. Iraklion airport is 81 kms away, Hania airport 82 kms.
