Overview

Villa Daphni is one of four modern and spacious detached holiday homes on the slope of a hill above the village of Gerani. The large property is framed by walls of natural stone, and the gardens of the four villas are separated by natural stone walls as well.
A private garden with swimming pool and sun terrace belongs to each villa. On 2 floors, Villa Daphni includes a living area, 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. All bedrooms and the living room have separate air conditioning units which can be regulated individually.
The living-room on the ground floor has an open fireplace and a satellite color TV set which also allows to listen international radio programs. The dining area and the kitchen are connected cornerwise.
Outside the living room there is a terrace which surrounds the swimming pool of 40 square meters size, and the separate children's section. Lawn, ornamental plants and a barbecue of natural stone make the outer facilities complete. Garden furniture are available on the terrace and on the balconies, and by the swimming pool there are sunbeds and umbrellas.
On the ground floor there is also a bedroom with a double bed and balcony, and a shower bathroom. On the top floor there are two further bedrooms with double beds, a fourth bedroom with two single beds, baby cot and balcony, and two bathrooms. On demand, two more accommodations can be prepared in the living room.
The kitchen equipment is modern and very comprehensive. It includes an electric hob with 4 flames, an oven, an extractor fan, a microwave oven, an integrated refrigerator/freezer, a dishwasher, a coffee maker, an electric juice squeezer, an electric kettle and a toaster.
The barbecue in the garden is prepared not only for sausages and steaks but also for spits. A supermarket, two mini markets, a baker's shop, a butcher's shop, a pastry shop, a hairdresser, a kafenion and two tavernas are located in the 1 km distant village center.
The small swimming-bay beneath the village has a pebbled beach, a tiny fishing-port, a small church and a popular taverna. Just 5 kms west, the bridge over Petres river marks the easternmost edge of one of Crete's most beautiful sandy dream beaches. It spreads over a distance of 11 kms along the Almirou Bay via Kavros till Georgioupolis.
On the beaches of Rethymnon (9 kms), Kavros (13 kms) and Georgioupolis (19 kms) there are plenty of sports and watersports on offer during the season. This includes volleyball, windsurfing, water skiing, paragliding, sailing, wetbikes, jet skiing, pedaloes and much more.
Bars, discotheques and a colourful nightlife can all-year be found in the picturesque Venetian old town of Rethymnon. The Atlantis Dive Center has it's main seat at the Rithymna Beach Hotel (14 kms) in Adelianos Campos near Rethymnon.

Location & area

Gerani is a small, typically Cretan village with crooked lanes. It stands on a hill above a small bay, some 7 kms west of the town center of Rethymnon. In recent years, many new houses have been built on the slopes around the village. They all enjoy most beautiful views of the bay, the sea and the mountains. Iraklion airport is 94 kms away, Hania airport 60 kms.
