Overview
Class accommodation in Nafplion and impeccable service is what was in mind when Arxontiko Kouros was just a project. Taking an old historical building and renovating it from the ground up, choosing each material, texture and colour to create a warm, friendly and classy accommodation with 7 double and triple rooms each with their own name and character was a time consuming process with a rewarding result.
Arxontiko Kouros has now opened its doors to visitors to the Nafplion area and offers hotel accommodation of a high standard in the form of double rooms, triple rooms and the most amazing bar, cafe and lounge which covers the whole of the second floor with breathtaking views of the bay of Nafplion and the Bourtzi castle.
The rooms at Arxontiko Kouros have been named after Greek heros, names such as Hercules, Athena, Aphrodite, Erato, Apollo, Zeus and Agamemnon - names with a significance to Greek history reflect the importance that we have given in renovating the Arxontiko Kouros building. The rooms, of course, all have private bathroom facilities and all the amenities one would expect to find in a high class accommodation.
See all of our rooms separately, choose which room suits your purposes and give us the chance to show you the true spirit of Greek hospitality in true Greek historic surroundings.

Location & area
Arxontiko Kouros is situated in the Old City of Nafplion in a quiet location just a few metres from the sea. Nafplion was the first capital of Greece and as such has many historical monuments, museums and castles which are well worth visiting. The Palamidi Castle which towers above the whole of Nafplion is accessible either by the 999 steps leading up to it, or by car and a visit during your stay in Nafplion is a must. The views from the top stretch for miles and are breathtaking. For more about the history of Nafplion click here.
Wandering around the magical city of Nafplion is an experience in itself. The narrow Venetian streets of the old town are fascinating with their shops and cafes spreading along the pavements, all with their own charm and original products to sell. The cafes along the harbour are a popular place for people of all ages who meet to drink coffee and watch the world go by. The central square of Nafplion, Syntagma Square houses the Archaeological Museum and a number of wonderful old buildings, some of which are restaurants and cafes. At night Nafplion comes alive with all the buzz a small city should have.. cafeterias become bars and music differs depending on the venue. Most of the year it is possible to sit outside whilst enjoying your coffee or drinks.
Spend time during your stay visiting the major archaeological sites of the Peloponnese such as the Ancient Theatre of Epidavros, Mycenae, Ancient Olympia, Mystras, Sparta, Monemvasia and many others. Try skiing at Tripoli or Kalavrita in the Winter, a visit to Nafplion's beaches of Arvanitia and Karathona in the Summer or for those who like to fill their time a visit to the Karonis Ouzo Museum where one can see how ouzo was and is produced now. Kite surfing is available a few kilometres out of Nafplion as are watersports such as waterskiing, surfing and sailing plus motor boat rental. Nafplion is also a renowned centre for the sailing fraternity who use the harbour as a base often.
Nafplion is a cosmopolitan town, has something for everyone and attracts visitors from all over Greece and the world all year round.

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud
It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
