Overview

Apartment Marilena is a no-smoking zone! It sits just off the main road leading to Milatos Beach and there is parking close by. It is reached via a short unmade track and is in a quiet and safe area with a private plant-filled terrace with spectacular views to the mountains, open-country, olive groves and village above. It is a mere 4-minute stroll to the nearest shop and a few more to all this traditional fishing village has to offer: 10+ excellent tavernas (fresh fish daily), local shops, working harbour and small sand and extensive pebble beaches.Our Apartment Marilena is beautifully and lovingly decorated and equipped to a very high standard. It boasts an open-plan living/dining area (blue/white) leading to the bright kitchen (green/white) area. The bedroom is stunning in cool blues & white and has a double bed with an overhead net-canopy. The shower/toilet room is 'art deco' in style and decorated in shades of green. The friendly owners live above in Villa Limani and are on hand (should you require advice or assistance) to ensure you have a wonderful holiday.

Location & area

Milatos Beach is about a 50 t0 60-minute drive from Heraklion Airport using the new National Highway (E75) and local winding roads. It is in the Lassithi Region and close to Malia/Sissi. Apartmentt Marilena is just off the main road leading to Milatos Beach seafront and is situated among local Cretan homes and vegetable plots.



Within a 4-minute stroll you will find 10+ tavernas where you are assured of a friendly welcome and offered freshly caught fish (pick your own!), local specialities and a selection of international cuisine. Also close by are a couple of small 'supermarkets', tourist shops, car-hire, harbour and beaches. You can also stroll up to (Epano) Milatos - a quaint old village with small kafeneon, shop and loads of local characters.

A swimming pool is available at the Angelika Apartments some 15 minutes stroll away (4e per person per day). If desired, you may occassionally arrange to dine with the owners who live above in Villa Limani.

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud

It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:

  • It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.

Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers.   • Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
