Valeriano is 30 km from the capital Argostoli which has a vibrant atmosphere with excellent shopping.

Visit St Georges Castle, a Venetian fortress in the Kastro area. The municipality in which Valerianos lies, has a population of about 4,000 and the services available include doctor, pharmacy, bakery, mini markets and a range of tavernas and cafes. It is 12 km from Skala which has, along its main street plenty of well stocked supermarkets, gift shops, restaurants, tavernas and bars. Nightlife in Skala is pretty good by Kefalonian standards and mainly targeted towards families and couples.
