In Crete, in the Municipality of Hersonissos Port (Limin- Chersonissos), 24 km from Heraklion to Aghios Nikolaos, you will come across Sirius apartments. Built in traditional local architectural style, it is a small, charming unit composed of 10 simple yet tastefully furnished apartments, each availing of all the necessary self-serve facilities for families or groups of friends up to five (5) persons.
Sited in a peaceful area, guests at Sirius apartments can enjoy relaxation and sunbathing in the outdoor swimming pool, whereas lovers of the sea only have to walk 80 meters before they reach a small beach with deep blue protected waters. For the leisurely kind there are umbrellas and beach beds for rent, while for the more adventurous the proximity of a diving school and water sports facilities promise an exciting day.
Limenas Hersonissou where Sirius apartments is located has grown from a sleepy fishing village of yore into a cosmopolitan, youthful, lively, and at times boisterous place with an exciting night life. Due to the high range of quality services and attractions provided, Hersonissos is nowadays considered the most developed tourist resort of Crete and is able to fulfill all the expectations. Should a peaceful day and a restful night be one's focus, there is no reason for concern. Sirius sits well away from the evening action, separated from it by the grounds of one of the leading greek luxury hotels. It is not however further than a ten minute walk if a night on the town and its restaurants, offering traditional, and not only, dishes, its busy bars awash in the sounds of the latest hits, and its shops is on the agenda.
Limenas Hersonissou is well placed as a hub for visiting many of the highly recommended historical and cultural sites of central Crete. By car, which can be readily rented locally, Heraklion with its imposing Venetian walls (the mightiest fortifications in the Mediterranean), Knossos with its Minoan Palace (birthplace of the Minotaur myth), Aghios Nikolaos with its sea connected deep (some claim bottomless) lake, Lasithi Plateau (birthplace of Zeus), just to mention a few, are but short drives away.

LOCAL AREA

The area where the apartments are is a peaceful coastal line, north of the Port of Hersonissos, consisting of a number of lovely small coves on the way to Anissaras. As the north-west wind is the dominating wind in Cretan Island, the small bays, facing east, have most of the year protected, clear and -worthy to take a look in- deep blue waters.

The surroundings are mainly resorts and private houses, while you can find a few supermarkets, restaurants, rentals and cafe-bars within 300 meters, both ways out and towards the center. To reach the boulevard (main pedestrian street) you have to walk about 600 meters while the Central Road (Old National Road) Central Bus Stop and Medical Center Bus Stop (1st bus stop from Heraklion) are at 800 meters distance.



In the area around Hersonissos Port you can find a high range of attractions and services, able to fulfill any expectations. Three large water parks, tennis courts, golf courts are within 20 minutes range by car. You can always visit the up-hilled traditional villages of Piskopiano, Koutouloufari and Old Hersonissos where you can dine at its elegant restaurants with a great view down Hersonissos Port.
