Just the right place to spend a wonderful and relaxing holiday. Tourism has hardly touched this village and "filoxenia" (Greek for hospitality) is simply the motto of Epikopi. A tradition deeply rooted in the Cretan way of life. So being a guest in this village will show you first hand what Cretan hospitality really means.

The name Episkopi dates back to the second Byzantine period on Crete. During this time the bishop seat of the coastal village of Hersonissos was moved further inland. Episkopi means bishop seat. Many small Byzantine churches with frescos from the Cretan School of Renaissance (14th/15th century) are found in and around the village. The main source of income is from agriculture. Olive groves and vineyards surraound the village. Life moves with a different pace compared to the coastal tourist areas. This is Crete the way it was and the way it is meant to be.

For food shopping you will find a baker, pastry shop, butcher, supermarkets and green grocer.

There is also a barber shop, post office, bank (ATM), chemist/pharmacy, mediacal center,gas/petrol and police station
For eating out (lunch/dinner) there are tavernas in Episkopi and area.
