Overview

Pink House is an exquisite self catering holiday accommodation, graciously and traditionally decorated, and providing all modern facilities (air conditioning included), so as to ensure a high standard of refined comfort, and attention to detail.The villa is literally on the beachfront of Kalami bay and surrounded by a garden with lemon and orange trees at the rear of the house and various flowers and plants including bougainvilleas, aromatic herbs, and roses in the front yard.
Adjacent to a small and quite tavern, it has been lovingly restored using traditional materials and local craftsmanship so as to retain the original style of this impressive old building. The exterior walls, 80cm thick, keep the house cool in summertime and warm in the winter months.
There is a lovely terrace in the pink stone front of the villa with a superb sea view. At the rear, there is a large shaded terrace (a typical Corfiot "botzos") overlooking the backyard orchard. This is an ideal spot for outdoor lunching, dining and evening relaxation.
For 2009 Season, Pink House is still available during the following periods:- from the 1st until the 23rd of May 2009- from the 12th until the 19th of June 2009 (one week)- from the 11th of September until the end of October 2009.

Kalami is a beautiful horse shoe bay of white pebbles shelving steeply into clear water, in the North-East of Corfu, 32 km from Corfu Town.

It became famous from Lawrence Durrell's White House, a white two storied house on a rocky promontory that was for several years in the 1930's the home of the novelist and his wife Nancy. Lawrence Durrell (1912-1990) was one of the most important novelists of the twentieth century and wrote during his staying in Corfu the "Prospero's Cell".
Three small supermarkets will provide you with all necessary goods. Nearby the White House there are two boat rental places and one point for water ski, Ringo and banana rides.

Furthermore, several Tourist Offices are present in Kalami, where you can change travellers cheques and foreign currency, rent a car or a motorcycle, and organise boat tours covering the surrounding bays (Agni, Kaminaki, Kouloura, San Stephano, Kassiopi).

The area is sufficiently covered by major mobile networks. Additionally, there is a telephone booth in the centre of the village. You will need a card to be purchased from the nearby supermarkets and tourist offices.

There are four tavernas in Kalami, serving traditional Greek cuisine, both on the waterfront and in the village behind.
There also two gift and souvenirs shops in the village selling ceramics and other traditional goods of Corfu. You may also find foreign newspapers to buy.

Ideal for families, Pink House has 3 bedrooms - one double & two twin bedrooms sleeping up to six adults plus one infant- all in traditional style with wooden floors and furniture.
The rooms reflect the frugal "luxury" of the first residents in 1900's, where nothing is absent and nothing is in excess. The large front entrance hall leads to a traditional living room before entering the kitchen. It is a cozy room with an old fashion fireplace. It is an ideal space for gathering on an unexpected chilly night. Also, the visitors will find a CD player so they should not forget to bring their CDs'. There is one bathroom/WC with a full sized bath with shower over, and a wash unit. Combined with a separate shower room/WC, the overall bathroom facilities cover the needs of a full house. Please note that there is also a washing machine.

In the rear of the house there is a modern and fully equipped fitted kitchen comprising of full oven, fridge/freezer, water-heater and toast maker, and covering all the needs of a modern family.

The kitchen at the back of the house is opening to the shaded terrace overlooking the small orchard with the lemon, orange and mandarin trees.
It is an ideal spot for outdoor dining and relaxation.
Please note that there is also a small barbeque.
Steps lead to the garden where there is an outdoor shower. If you are lucky you may even have the privilege of enjoying your fresh juice right from the tree!!!

Surrounded by a garden, the villa offers a sea view front terrace where one can enjoy in the sunset. In the morning, you may enjoy your beakfast in the shadow of the parasol, having a superb view of the Kalami bay.
Pink House is only 17 meters away from the sea!!!
