Location & area

The community of Kolymbari is made up mainly of farmers and stock breeders. The local produce is mainly olive oil, honey, wine and dairy products. In the villages by the sea the locals are engaged in fishing.

From Kolimbari Village,you can easily catch the frequent bus to Chania Town in order to visit the Venetian harbour, the museums, the shops and nightlife that Chania has to offer. Kolimbari is an atractive village at the beginning of the Rodopos peninsula in the north west of Crete, with a long pebble beach, some dilapedated houses, and lots of fish restaurants. It's surrounded by the high mountains (with caves) and connected with other villages nearby (the whole road from Tavronitis to Kolimbari is one village after another). There are however enough restaurants and shops.
