Villa Ellopia is located near the beach of Kolymbia, 300 meters from the beach, just about 1.5 km from the Afandou Golf and about the same distance from the main town. In town you will find restaurants, bars, clubs, super markets, tourist and Souvenir shops and a variety of other shops that cater to the visitors needs. There is a small train that runs from the main beach (about 1 km from the villa) to the center of the town about 3-4 times a day. The villa consists of 2 bedrooms and is suitable to accommodate up to six persons(4 adults and 2 children). The kitchen is fully equipped with all the necessary gear to prepare your own meals. Alternatively, you may use the BBQ pit located at the big veranda.
The bedrooms are fully Air conditioned, which you will really appreciate during the hot summer nights.! The sheets are changed twice a week and the villa is maintained in a spotless condition. The superb garden and fruit trees are trimmed and in perfect order.

Location & area

The village of Afandou has been founded in times where pirates used to overrun the islands of the Mediterranean. During that period, people used to leave the shores in order to seek shelter in the inland. The village of Afandou took its name form the word "afandos", which in Greek means "invisible", because it could not be seen from the sea.



The village of Afandou is located 5Km from Faliraki, and it is one of the largest and oldest villages on the Island of Rhodes. Filled with fruit-bearing and olive trees, the village is famous for its carpets. The village has a population of about 7.500 people, and almost anything you may need can be found there, as it has stores and shops of any kind.



If you visit the village, it is essential to visit the church of Our Lady, which can be found right next to the village?s main square. Right there on this square, you will be able to meet many locals, who are very hospitable, and also carry a very characteristic accent. A folklore exhibition can be found in the village, and during summer a small road train connects the village to the beach.



The beach of Afandou can be considered huge! It extends to a length of over 3Km, and offers crystal clear waters. On the far left side of the beach, where the shore ends, you will find areas with rocks and caves, which are suitable for all of you who consider your self adventurous. You should also not neglect to visit the unique church of Our Lady Katholiki. The church is decorated with wall paintings originating from the 17th Century. In August the church celebrates and a big religious festival is being held.



The golf place, Afandou golf, is also located close to the village.Kolymbia (Kolympia) is a place perfect for a quiet family vacation. It is a low profile seaside resort, with neither the luxury of Ixia nor the intensity of Faliraki, and thanks to the nearby Seven Springs (Epta Piges) it is very green. Its location midway between Rhodes make it an ideal resort for those who want to enjoy both these cosmopolitan centres. To enter Kolymbia (Kolympia) you come along a fresh, lush green Eucalyptus Road. This road was built by the Italians also.



Kolymbia (Kolympia) is a fairly discreet coastal resort, and does not provide the ostentatious luxury of Ixia or the frenzied activity of Faliraki. The hotels here are set well apart, and there are only a hand-ful of restaurants and shops. All this makes it an ideal place for those seeking peace and relaxation, mainly couples and families.
