We are delighted to be introducing this Chalet in Vaujany, designed specifically for our guests and their needs, and situated very near to both the cable car station and the new sports complex with swimming-pool and tennis courts.
Chalet Saskia, as two almost symmetrical halves, is effectively two 5-bedroomed chalets - East and West. Each chalet has its own separate bedroom accommodation and all bedrooms have a balcony. The double room has en-suite shower/WC and all the other rooms have en-suite bath/WC with shower attachment. On the ground floor there is a shared entrance hallway leading to two separate living/dining rooms, each with beautiful views, balconies and log-fire. On the lower ground floor there is a shared games room with television and a large heated ski/boot room.

Chalet Saskia is perched on the edge of a wooded meadow only three minutes walk from the main cable car.
The Chalet is situated in the rural traditional village of Vaujany near to the main lift station and swimming pool/sports complex. Vaujany faces the splendid "Massif des Grandes Rousses" mountains and encaptures the charm and the seduction of an authentic Alpine high altitude village. Blending tradition and modernity, Vaujany proposes visitors - top class skiing, swimming, skating, cycling and trekking facilities amongst an unspoilt environment in beautiful mountain landscapes.
In the evening there are shops, bars and restaurants to enjoy when the village comes alive with torch descents, shows and events.
Vaujany benefits from a state of the art escalator which connects the top with the bottom of the village. Up the top there is the Galerie Marchande with various shops/ bars and restaurants and then there is another similar development around the main lift station at the bottom...shops, bars, restaurants, etc. The escalator connects the two and allows the people at the top of the village to ride easily down to the lift station and back again. The 160 place Cable Car systems takes you from the village at 1100 metres to 2700 metres 'The next stop up is 3300 metres at the Pic Blanc looking out on to the Mont Blanc, the Grand Paradis, the Meije and the Ecrin National Park.
Childcare - There is a spacious day nursery and a children's activity club in Vaujany.
Vaujany provides all the ingredients of which special holidays are made - for all ages!
~ SUMMER ~
Catch the small train to travel around the village and hamlets free of charge. You will find a Local Wildlife area, Memory centre, cinema, Hydrelec museum, 2 discos, tennis, mountaineering, parapenting, shops, internet cafe.
Cycling/Mountain biking - we are only 15 minutes from Bourg d'Oisans the cycling capital of the area. Near to the famous climb to Alpe d'Huez and nearby cols such as Galibier, Lautaret and Croix de Fer. Local mountain-bike routes including the descent from Pic Blanc (3,300m) to Allemont (750m) using the cable-car for the ascent!
Why not do what the French do, linger over a lengthy lunch at one of the excellent restaurants in the village or take a cable car up the mountain and enjoy lunch with a view.
For a memorable day out, there are scenic plane rides from Alpe d'Huez, soar over the mountain ridges and swoop through the deep valleys.
~ WINTER ~
The Vaujany Ski Domain shares world class skiing and is an integral part of an enormous domain covering 8 village communal territories : Alpe d'Huez, Auris, Clavans, Le Freney d'Oisans, La Garde, Oz en Oisans and Villard Reculas. Vaujany offers over 7410 Acres of mountainous snow playground in an attempt to satisfy the desires and ambitions of all kinds of skiers, piste and off-piste, cross-country, competitions, snowboard, snow shoe walking ... everybody.
Advanced - Some of the best off-piste skiing in Alpe D'Huez.
Intermediate - For leisurely skiers, and those wanting to improve technique, ideal pistes in Vaujany.
Beginner - Via a direct gondola to the nursery slopes at Monfrais. Vaujany also has its own ski school.
Snowboarding - Boarders should head to Lac Blanc, where there is a fun park and a great deal of runs to suit all abilities of boarders.

SUMMER (July/August)catered - Prices are 425GBP per person for a 1 week stay with seven breakfasts and five dinners included. Early supper for children under 12. Sunday change over day. The rooms are cleaned daily and linen/towels are provided. Travel not included.
For May, June, September & October - self catering only is 2950GBP for chalet per week.
WINTER catered - Prices are per person for a 1 week stay all meals. Early supper for children under 12. The rooms are cleaned daily and linen/towels are provided. Flights from Gatwick or Manchester (suppl) on a Sunday are included. Reductions on 14 night stays - please inquire.

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud
It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
