Overview
Detached traditional rustic farmhouse with attached converted barn in remote rural setting. Set in the beautiful mountains of the Auvergne, this property would suit those wishing to 'get away from it all' in a wonderfully peaceful area of undiscovered France. Enjoying spectacular views across to the Cantal and north towards Puy de Dome, there is a large garden to the rear of the property, and outdoor furniture and a barbecue are supplied. The house is at the edge of a small friendly village of five houses. Ideal for long-term rental, with preferable rates given.Accommodation in the house comprises three double bedrooms, one of which is a twin. Open-plan kitchen-living area with powerful log-burning stove. Bathroom and other rooms have oil-filled electric radiators. Light and airy barn conversion comprises studio-living with double bed, kitchen, living area with log-burning stove and bathroom. Perfect addition for teenagers or visitors. Facilities include telephone, washing machine, fridge, TV and DVD player, stereo. Internet access can be set up for long-term rental. Superb walks (with or without donkey!), canoeing and swimming in the Allier, skiing at Super Besse (just over one hour away), horse riding, cultural days in Le Puy and La Chaise Dieu, weekly markets in Brioude and other local towns. Children and pets welcome. House is well located just over an hour south of Clermont-Ferrand, an hour and a half west of St Etienne and 40 minutes north of Le Puy.
