Overview

Farmhouse gites in sunny Poitou Charentes in the heart of the Deux Sevres countryside.
Le GRENIER, sleeping 8 in 4 bedrooms, offers peace and tranquillity and shares a large garden and family swimming pool with our other gite La FERMETTE.

Fully equipped,as are the gardens, and including free wireless broadband connection,it is a Haven where, while you relax, the children can 'run free', explore and be fascinated by the diverse wildlife in a safe environment.
Because it is situated at the end of a small settlement of 4 houses with
friendly neighbours ( who only speak French but love to meet visitors) ,
there is total privacy and tranquillity
There is a gazebo in the garden for shade, under which is a garden table
and 6 chairs, with a brick bbq. close by, and a table and chairs with
umbrella at the front of the gite for the first cup of tea of the day or the
last few drinks of the evening.
The pool is 30ft long, 15ft wide and approx 4ft deep, ideal for swimming,
splashing about or just keeping cool and is above ground making it safer for
children.
Experience a true French way of life in this non-tourist backwater, quiet roads, clear night skies, excellent, inexpensive rural restaurants and produce markets, sleepy villages and friendly locals.

Location & area

There is so much to discover in this ' undiscovered 'part of France. The immediate area offers bird watching, nature trails, fishing, walking, horse riding, rock climbing, canoeing, mountain biking, and there is a great old fashioned funfair theme park with lots of rides suitable for younger children (and no queuing!!) all in the beautiful river gorge 10 mins away and an international go-karting track.
A short car ride will take you to several excellent golf courses, the Pescalis fishing complex, the famous Puy du Fou, a fantastic natural zoo in Doue la Fontaine, Troglodyte villages, Loire valley and Saumur. A little further La Rochelle and the coast, Futuroscope, and the Loire Chateaux.
