Overview

La Cachette B&B is close to Sarlat and Domme, situated in the heart of the Perigord Noir region of the beautiful Dordogne. We overlook the village of Grolejac which offers (within walking distance)2 restaurants (one on the lake), an excellent cycle path which follows the river valley (we have 2 bikes for hire), a tennis court, large lake safe for swimming with a sandy beach and canoe hire on the river Dordogne, which winds its way past the village.

We are within a short drive of many of the beautiful medieval sites; Sarlat, Domme, La Roque Gageac, Beynac, Rocamadour. Sarlat, is a well preserved medieval town with fine architecture and hidden courtyards. Pay a visit in the evening and enjoy a meal in one of the many restaurants and soak up the atmosphere of the musicians and other artists who perform in the streets.

Accommodation: Our rooms are large doubles (one room having an additional single bed) with exposed beams. We have named our rooms after two of the local chateaux.

Montfort is a large double room with large private shower room, toilet and wash basin. Beautiful views down to the Dordogne valley.

Fenelon is also a large double room with an additional single bed with ensuite shower, toilet and washbasin. Views across wooded hills.

Our generous continental breakfast is served on the terrace or in the beamed salon where there is a log burning fire out of season. Guests have the use of a sunny terrace, which is a lovely place to relax, enjoy a glass of wine and take in the wonderful view. There is a shady, terraced, woodland garden with sun-loungers.

Grolejac is on the D704 half way between Sarlat and Gourdon.

There are 4 airports within a 2 hour drive: Bergerac, Limoges, Rodez and Toulouse. All operate low cost flights and car hire.

By road we are approx 40 mins from the A20 autoroute, exit 55 Souillac.
