Overview

River Cottage is the perfect place for a break. Lovely river-edge countryside just down the road from the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Saint Emilion, nestled amid the Bordeaux vineyards and less than an hour's drive away from the fantastic city of Bordeaux.
We are literally less than 2 hours away from London !
The great thing about River Cottage is that your holiday is really and truly made to measure. No worries about finding the nearest supermarket or rushing out for fresh croissant in the morning we do all that for you. Lots of homemade jams and bread with fresh French pastries for breakfast.
If you fancy a day out just let us know the day before and we can prepare a fresh and healthy picnic lunch with a good bottle of wine of course ! If you are staying near the cottage we can serve lunch under the wisteria in the cottage garden, or you can come round to our side and have it with us.
Dinner will hopefully be out on the terrace each evening. There will be one special dinner during your stay you will be sent into our garden for a walk with the horses or down by the river for an apéritif while we light candles and set up an extra special table for you.
As you can see, the general idea is to pamper you while you are here, and make your stay into a real holiday with the luxury of not having to worry about a thing.

We can also offer wine tours, wine tasting dinners.
