Overview

The locals say that our farmhouse has the best views in the neighbourhood and we can understand why. It sits on a hill, looking up a valley towards the hilltop village of Puylaurens and is surrounded by farmland and trees (including fruit trees - apples, plum and pears outside your door!)

We've recently refurbished the farm, finishing it in a simple, modern style. The ground floor comprises a lounge and a large breakfast/ fully-equipped kitchen area. Upstairs, there's a double and 2 twin bedroom as well as the bathroom (bath, separate shower, WC).

Outside, the farm shares its location with our separately rented Chateau but don't worry - there's 50m of woodland between the two houses. In fact, we've let our 18 year old son stay in the farm with his friends and never heard their all night antics! The two houses share the heated, 20m pool (which is just 30m from the farm) as well as the washing machine/tumble dryer.

The region (we're just outside Revel on the border of Tarn and Haute Garonne) is rural but there's plenty to do. All the following are within 30 minutes drive - canoeing, windsurfing, horse-riding, walking, fishing, go-karts, an adventure park, mountain biking. Toulouse and Carcassonne airports are an hour away.

Location & area

Our area of Tarn - the Lauragais - is a farming area. The local meat is wonderful, the local delicacy is cassoulet (a duck, pork, sausage and bean stew) and Revel, just 8km away, hosts the regions best open air fresh food market every Saturday. It also offers a range of supermarkets - the nearest hypermarket is 20km away. There's plenty of restaurants within easy reach, even a Michelin starred one!



The medieval cities of Albi (cathedral, winding streets, Toulouse Lautrec museum) and Carcassonne (walled city is a World Heritage Site) are an hour away, as is the larger city of Toulouse (extensive shopping, large airport).



The Montagne Noires (walking, ruined Cathar castles) are 10km away, the beaches of the mediterranean and the peaks of the Pyrenees an hour and a half's drive.

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud

It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
