Old Town Charm with a Tempting Terrace
This well-presented fifth floor apartment has the benefit of a substantial terrace and open plan living area. Ideal for a couple, this one bedroom apartment has special romantic charm. A small family, or a group of friends, might also take advantage of the mezzanine and the sofa bed.
The open plan living area has a set of patio doors leading directly onto the fabulous terrace. The terrace has a simple mosaic dining table at one end, and two deck chairs perfect for a sunny day at the other. Being at the back of the apartment, with no through street below, the terrace is relatively quiet in the evening and a gentle buzz of activity and passing shoppers is all that can be heard from the pedestrianised area below.
The functional and compact kitchen is equipped with a two-ring induction hob and extractor, a fridge, a microwave, and kettle. There is also a fold-out dining table should you choose to eat inside. The mezzanine area above the kitchen contains two single mattresses should you need them.
The bedroom houses a king-size bed from Habitat and fitted mirrored wardrobes. Access to the terrace can be gained through small patio doors. The well-appointed modern bathroom comes with a bath and shower, and is located off the open plan living area.
As mentioned earlier, the apartment is on the fifth floor and there is no lift in the apartment building. This is typical of apartments in the Old Town due to the age and design of the buildings. Please bear this in mind if you are interested in booking the apartment. Its not for you if you are not of reasonable fitness. Having said that, the walk up to the apartment will all seem worthwhile when you are enjoying a cold drink and admiring the view over the rooftops.
The apartment can be found on the narrow street of Rue Pariolieri, one of the main shopping streets of the Old Town which leads onto the famous fish market on Place St Fran'ois. Situated underneath the apartment are the typical Old Nice shops and restaurants, including a popular ice cream parlour. There is a launderette just a two-minute walk away.
This apartment has, depending on your point of view, a cute or annoying occasional extra guest. A very friendly cat. He has been known to wander into the apartment from the terrace if the patio windows are open, as well they might be for most of the year. So if you have any problems with cats, please look at one of our other apartments. If you love them, then he will welcome your attentions.
From the door of this apartment, you will be immersed into the ambience of the Old Town, day or night. The walk to the beach will be short and pleasurable as you soak up the atmosphere passing all of the main squares, St Francois, Place Rossetti, and then the Cours Saleya on your way. Everything is on your doorstep from here including many of our recommended restaurants such as Le Tire-Bouchon, L'Univers-Christian Plumail, Chez-Juliette and La Merenda, all of which are a few minutes away in the Old Town.
