Overview
Renovated in 2005 by one of Nice's most respected designers, the interior of this apartment, coupled with its prime location, make this a fantastic holiday apartment. On Rue Alexandre Mari in a well-maintained building with a lift, this fourth floor apartment is so very much more than a room with a view. Yet, what a view! As soon as you enter the apartment, you can see breathtaking views of the sea, the Niois buildings on the Cours Saleya, and the hills leading up to the chateau. The view can still be seen from the sofa, the dining table, the kitchen, and, of course, the balcony. Even at the back of the apartment, the bedrooms have a pretty view of a large church, and apparently from time to time you may glimpse a monk having afternoon tea in the garden at the back of the church. It perhaps goes without saying that this apartment benefits from tons of natural light throughout. The apartment itself has everything you could feasibly need on holiday. The open plan living area is equipped with a modern slick, fully fitted kitchen. The units hold a large fridge with small freezer compartment, a dishwasher, built-in oven and hob, and plenty of cupboard space containing all necessary utensils to cook and entertain. The living area hosts a white table with four chairs, a sofa, a dome seat, and a wicker chair. There is also a TV with French cable, including music channels, a DVD player, and a radio for guests use. Finally, there is a phone with the facility of making free calls to the UK, the United States, and Europe. Perfect for both phoning home and booking a table at a popular restaurant. Leading from the central hallway, the two bedrooms are at the back of the apartment, both with en-suite bathrooms. The master bedroom has a large double bed, two bedside tables with elegant table lamps, and a built-in wardrobe. To the far side of the bedroom are large patio windows which lead onto a balcony. To the left of the bedroom is a fantastic large bathroom with a bath, two sinks, a toilet, and a walk-in shower. There is also a radiator and towel rail. The second bedroom takes largely the same layout, with a double bed, bedside tables, and built-in wardrobe. The covered balcony with frosted windows forms a small utility area containing a washer/dryer and a clothes rack, as well as the store for the ironing board and iron. The balcony windows are waist high so pose no problem for children. The en-suite bathroom for this bedroom is smaller than the master bedroom and consists simply of one sink, a walk-in shower, and a radiator. Another toilet is situated in the hallway of the apartment. As mentioned earlier, this apartment was designed by one of Nice's sought after designers and throughout the apartment there are superior fixtures, fittings, and soft furnishings, including the beige candy-striped ceiling-to-floor curtains, the red feature walls, and the tiling. Coupled with the views and the location, we think you'll never want to leave. We don't know where to start with the location of this building. Situated in the posh part of the Old Town, a few metres from the Opera de Nice, you will find on your doorstep the most exclusive restaurants in town, along with the famous shops offering olive oil, chocolates, and truffles all on one street. Our web designer's favourite restaurant, (for which he and his wife travel all the way from California once a year specially to visit), La Merenda is practically next door. The famous flower market on the Cours Saleya is practically this apartment's front garden. Stroll for a minute or two and you will find yourself in the heart of the Old Town for more restaurants, bars, and all the ambience the Old Town is famous for. A minute stroll in the other direction will find you on the main area of the promenade. Should you wish to travel further afield, the bus station is a five minute walk away. The train station is twenty-five minutes away. Should you wish to bring a car, there is also the Cours Saleya underground car park on the doorstep.
