Les Mihans - This spacious 3 bedroom farmhouse is set in a quiet rural location in the Brittany countryside, away from it all, and yet only 45 minutes from Dinard airport and the beautiful Cote d'Emeraude coastline with its fine sandy beaches.A wooden staircase leads upstairs to the 3 bedrooms, all with beamed ceilings, consisting of 2 double bedrooms, and one family room with 3 single beds. The house is surrounded by a large grassy garden with several outbuildings (not accessible), terraces for outside dining and barbecuing, a well (with sturdy grill) and a children's swing and see-saw. There is plenty of outside furniture, 6 reclining chairs, large teak wooden table and chairs, additional table and 2 parasols, as well as a mobile barbecue. There are various games, tennis/badminton net, and bikes for both adults and children. All in all the house is suitable for all sorts of breaks from those looking to get away from it all, to families with children who want to explore the countryside and beaches of this lovely part of France.

Location & area

The house is located in a quiet setting, overlooking farmland and countryside in the Ile et Vilaine department of Brittany, approx 25 minutes west of Rennes, the department's picturesque capital with its shops, restaurants and weekend markets. 30-40 minutes drive to the north are the attractive old towns of Dinan and St Malo, both definitely worth a visit. There are many walks and opportunities for cycling in the vicinity of the house, especially as it is located on the edge of the Forest of Paimpont. The nearest village, 2 km away from the house, is Muel which has a boulangerie (baker shop) and boucherie (butchers) as well as a couple of cafe/restaurants. The small town of St Meen-le-Grand, within 10 minutes drive from the house, has various shops and restaurants, a swimming pool and a children's play area. The lovely beaches for which Brittany is renowned, are accessible within 45 minutes to an hour of the house, either down to the south coast, and the pretty town of Vannes and the interesting 'Standing Stones' or megalithic monuments at Carnac, or up to the north coast and the array of beaches stretching from St Malo to St Brieuc. To the west is the pretty town of Josselin with its castle on the river.
