Overview

Location: Tenir la Lune is an excellent place for a holiday. It is set in the very heart of rural France in the commune of Lussat.[23170] It is a place to escape from it all. The nearest towns for provisions are Chambon-sur-Voueize and Gouzon , both about 5 km away. Larger towns of interest are Montlu�on with its medieval citadel (30min) and Aubusson , famous for its tapestries (30min). Lake Vassiviere is an excellent beach resort [1 hour]. There are numerous cafes and excellent restaurants within 5 to 10 km of the house.

The surrounding countryside has gentle, rolling hills with numerous gorges that cut through the rock plateau. Cycling and walking are excellent and maps and bicycles [3] are available on request. Buzzards are abundant and the night sky is breathtaking.

The countryside makes it a perfect place to try your skills with photography or sketching and painting. Fishing is a popular sport here and there are numerous swimming lakes. The local lake at Lussat is a fishing lake, but also part of it is a beautiful reserve for birds.

Location & area

Tenir la Lune is located in the commune of Lussat. It is part of the Limousin region, in the department of Creuse renowned for its friendly welcoming atmosphere. The region is famous for its copper colour limousin cattle and for chestnuts and hazel nuts in the autumn.



The nearest towns for provisions are Chambon-sur-Voueize and Gouzon , both about 5 km away. There are several local bakeries and cafes to chose from.



Larger towns of interest are Montlucon with its medieval citadel(30min) and Aubusson, famous for its tapestries (30min). Lake Vassivi�re is a beautiful lake for swimming and other recreational activities [1 hour]. There are some excellent restaurants within 5 to 10 km of the house. Busy markets can be found in Boussac and Felletin.
Other places of interest are the Wolf park and giant maze both near Gueret and Jaumatres, an enormous granite outcrop near Boussac.
