Location & area

Just a few minutes drive is Beaulie-les-Loches, which has its own bar, restaurants and local amenities and is just 1 km from the centre of Loches. Its parish church is built into the ruins of the Abbaye de la Trinite, a Benedictine abbey church built to house the bones of Foulque Nerra, the dreaded count of Anjou who also established the keep at Loches. A twelfth century belfry still towers over the ruins of the Romanesque nave, which was damaged by fire in the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries.
