Overview

Here in the department of Tarn one of France's best kept secrets you will find les Lamas de Labastide. Situated in a stunning area encompassing the Montagne Noir and the Haute Languedoc national park this is an area of outstanding beauty with rivers, lakes, mountains and forests. It is a paradise for walkers, cyclists and nature lovers. Easily accessible from Toulouse, Carcassonne and Beziers. Labastide Rouairoux is a tranquil spot to base a holiday or simply spend a day or two.

Available all year round our Gite is a great place for your next holiday or short break. The Vieux Atelier started life as a small wool processing workshop no one is sure quite when... Later it was converted to a holiday home although the attic still houses some of the old machinery.

We have tried to furnish and equip our property sympathetically. The contents of the house have been chosen to appeal to those who appreciate individuality, character and age. The accommodation is all on the ground floor. It has two bedrooms. The first is a double with large storage cupboard and views on to the garden. The second bedroom is a twin but can be provided as a double if requested in advance. There is a living/dinning/kitchen which is equipped with full cooker, fridge freezer, washing machine and microwave. There is an inset woodburning stove to one end with small sofa and arm chairs to relax after a good days sightseeing. There is a shower room which is best described as small and functional containing shower, sink and toilet. It does the job and there is plenty of hot water! Accessed by the side of the house is the garden which looks over the rooftops of the houses below and on to the mountains. It's a lovely private space to enjoy a drink or meal and for children to play.

We provide masses of books for rainy days, CD player and French TV. As parents ourselves we understand the need for children to be happy on holiday and with this in mind we provide a selection of age appropriate toys.

We can supply seasonal boxes of home grown vegetables, eggs and preserves. For late arrivals if requested in advance we can prepare a meal for you to simply heat and serve on arrival. We will send you details of these services when you book.
