Overview

Located in a small hill top 'Ciculade' Cailhavel is a peaceful village surrounded by open countryside.This 18th century cottage has been restored to provide modern comfort, yet retains the traditional feeling of the property. The cottage is available all year round and has a wood burning stove for the cooler months as well as full central heating. The terrace immediately outside the cottage provide a private area for relaxing, complete with BBQ, table and chairs it make a pleasant sitting area. There is a second terrace which, in summer, is well shaded by a fig tree.
The ground floor now provides a light and airy open plan living space. there's a TV with French and English language channels, a DVD player and CD player. Internet is available from your own laptop and our WiFi connection.
The dining area has a table and six chairs, a dresser stocked with ample crockery and looks out onto the terrace. The kitchen has a hob, oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, micro-wave and is equipped for cooking. It completes the convivial atmosphere of this open plan living area.On the first floor is the double bedroom , with an exposed stone wall and wooden beams, there is storage and hanging space. Next door is the twin room with two single beds, storage and hanging space.

The shower room consists of of a shower cubicle, basin, bidet and toilet. we provide a hairdryer to save on your luggage space.
On the landing there's an assortment of books together with indoor games and also a comfy chair offering a quiet sitting area.

Cailhavel is located 20km West/Southwest of Carcassonne and it's famous medieval city and makes a perfect base for exploring this part of the Languedoc. Limoux, famous for it's sparkling wine 'Blanquette de Limoux' and it's Carnival, which takes place every weekend from January to April.
