Overview

Le Vieux Cerisier.A fully restored eighteenth century farmhouse with pool, set within it’s own private grounds. Le Vieux Cerisier offers accommodation in your own self contained suite of rooms.

The large first floor mezzanine bedroom has twin beds, plus an extra child’s bed (if required), a cot is also available. On the ground floor is a charming and cosy lounge comfortably furnished and inviting, with your own front entrance door. There is a rear anti-room with table and chairs (tea making facilities) and a luxury shower room with hydro-massage shower cabin and wc.

The location. Located down a quiet country lane in a sleepy hamlet the property is completely peaceful and enjoys far reaching views over the rolling countryside. Bergerac is a 20 minute drive away.

You may choose to go out for a meal at one of the many local restaurants or you can enjoy an evening meal (Table d’hote) at the property. This is an informal four course meal taken with your hosts Paul and Ann Edwards. The ingredients are all local produce and home grown organic vegetables. The meal includes an aperitif and wine with your dinner (vegetarian option available). The meal is usually served al fresco on the terrace. The price is 22 euros per person, advance notice is required.

Staying at the property affords the perfect opportunity to relax and unwind, to take a dip in the pool or a glass of wine on the terrace on those balmy summer evenings.

A perfect centre from which to take off for the day and explore the many delights that the region has to offer. From local markets to historic buildings, scenic countryside and wildlife, the world famous vineyards and wines and the many activities available.

There is something to suite everyone and a pace of life that is calm and unhurried.

The Area.The Pays de Bergerac provides a wonderful combination of gentle countryside, picturesque towns and villages, fine wine and gourmet food.

St Emilion and the many vineyards of the region are a must for those who wish to sample and perhaps take home some very fine wines.

The lovely old towns of Bergerac and Perigueux and many medieval Bastide towns are within easy reach.
A little further a field are the classic sites of the Dordogne valley - dramatic cliff top villages, troglodyte settlements, les Eyzies and prehistoric caves, Domme, Beynac and Castlenaud.
