Overview
This delightful, stone-built Normandy farmhouse dates from 1780 and its features include a private lake and views of the Perseigne forest, 12,000 acres of public woodland that stretches from Alencon to Mamers via Neufchatel-en-Saosnois, 25 miles north of Le Mans. The upper floor has been carefully converted to create three beautiful guest rooms in character with the rest of the house but with quality modern fittings.Awarded 3 Epis by Gites de France, all rooms have private en- suite bathrooms plus there is a guest sitting room and library with Wi-Fi Internet access.Outside there are extensive gardens (part wooded), with well-tended flowerbeds, a romantic rose walk, terraces and garden furniture for guests' use. There is a restaurant and bar for evening meals just 2 mins away on foot, while Alencon has many excellent restaurants. This is an excellent area for activity or sightseeing holidays, with chateaux, gardens, pretty villages and countryside, horseriding, mountainbiking, canoeing, quad biking, rock climbing and much more.Thinking of booking for one night on the way to a gite or holiday home? Why not make it two or three nights so that you can relax and appreciate part of this welcoming and friendly area, which is unspoiled by commercial tourism but rich in tradition, with an abundance of top-quality restaurants, interesting places and sights to see.

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud
It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
