Overview

Description: Sleeps up to 7 (1 via a guest pull out bed)

Villa Diva is situated in the picturesque village of Ribaritsa, in the central Balkan National Park at the foot of the Stara Planina Mountain, and is considered to be the most beautiful amongst the twelve villages in the area of Teteven.

This is probably why it is one of the most popular holiday destinations for the Bulgarian people. Ribaritsa has an unspoilt character, with the Beli Vit River running through the village. An old Roman Bridge, which is still used, crosses the river.

As you enter the village, you can see the sculpture of a “River Boy”, the symbol of Ribaritsa.

Ribaritsa is the ideal destination for holidaymakers who enjoy fresh air and hill walking or cycling amongst spectacular mountain scenery. It is one of the main points of departure for hiking tours in the Teteven Balkan. It is also a sought-after holiday destination for anglers, as the name “Ribaritsa” means fish, and the river is full of Balkan trout. In addition, the unusual species of birds that inhabit the area make this the ideal place for ornithologists.

At night Ribaritsa comes to life with the many village restaurants offering delicious food and drink and many with live traditional Bulgarian music.

The accommodation is fully furnished and comprised as follows:

Ground floor: Downstairs shower room and toilet, large split level lounge/dining room with log burning fire, fitted kitchen with mini cooker, microwave and fridge.

Upstairs: 3 bedrooms comprising of master bedroom with balcony with superb views and further double bedroom, third bedroom with bunk beds (pull out bed underneath) and access to the balcony shared with the master bedroom.

Outside: Attractive patio area and garden with BBQ. Secure parking for one car. Further parking available outside on the road.

There is a stunning meandering river at the bottom of the road that leads up to the Villa, with superb views from the villa and balconies. Extra bed linen is provided. Towels are also provided.

For those wishing to explore further afield, there are bus links to all the major towns in the area, including the next village Teteven, Troyan to the east and Lovech to the north.

The area of Teteven offers many additional attractions for visitors. These include the beautiful Koznitsa Waterfall and Sinyoto Kolelo (the Blue Wheel). You can also explore the mysterious caverns.

The area around Lovech has been inhabited since prehistoric times. Some of the most interesting Neolithic finds from the Bulgarian lands have been discovered in the Devetashka cave, 24 km from Lovech.

There are two nature reserves in the area. The Boatin and Tsarichina Nature Reserves are part of the Central Balkan Mountains National Park.

The broadest beech forest belt in Bulgaria will be found in this region, in which the inhabitants include protected species such as fox, bear and deer.

A number of traditional crafts can be seen in action, such as woodcarving, turnery, saddlery, ironmongery, weaving and jewellery making.

There are many old monasteries in the area, one of which is the Glogen Monastery, which was built in the 13th Century. This can be reached by a steep climb or by car.

With so much to do and see, combined with the stunning scenery, Ribaritsa is the ideal holiday location for all the family. It is particularly recommended for nature lovers and those that love the outdoor life.

The property is about a one and half hour drive from Sofia airport with superb views along the way.
