RILA MOUNTAIN LODGE is a big house with a big heart. British owned and run. We look forward to welcoming you.
All our rooms are bright and spacious with stunning mountain views. . We are just minutes away from 3 ski resorts the biggest being Borovets with its international reputation for good skiing and English speaking instructors. We can arrange your ski lessons and ski hire in advance . Each morning we will drive you to the ski slopes and at the end of your exhilarating day bring you back to a warm welcome and reviving drink in our SPACIOUS BAR Our meals are hearty and home cooked (please let us know if you have special dietary requirements) and in the evening we offer you a choice of complimentary local wine or beer with your 3 course dinner. Delicious! Each floor has balconies where you can relax with a night cap and gaze at the awesome night sky. Our bedrooms are comfy, warm and fitted with locally handcrafted furniture. Ideal for group bookings.

Location & area

Rila Mountain Lodge is situated in the rural village of Govedartsi, known as the Gateway to the Rila National Park.(featured by Michael Palin)

The main ski resort of BOROVETS with its many bars, restaurants and nightclubs is just 20 minutes way. Govedartsi has its own ski slope as does nearby Malyovitsa, which is within the National Park.

Plenty of opportunity for having fun in the snow!

The mountain walks , along well marked paths, are peaceful and breathtakingly beautiful The pace of life in the village will charm and relax you, and time spent in local cafes will afford you the opportunity to watch the world go by as it has done for centuries! In the nearby town of Samakov small individual shops and market stalls offer the opportunity to 'buy something a little bit different' at prices that will astound you!

We can take you on a trip to the famous Rila Monastery or if you fancy a little more sophistication don't miss the opportunity to take in the sights and shops of Sofia.
