Overview
The Rila Mountains are the perfect destination for skiing, mountain biking, hiking, fishing and horse riding.
Pine Ridge is set close to the unspoilt village of Madjare and in easy reach of Borovets and Samakov, with excellent ski facilities, the Rila Mountains will provide you with a beautiful backdrop for a brilliant mountain holiday. Borovets provides lively apres ski entertainment, with lots of barbecued fish and meat, salad, potatoes and freshly baked Turkish bread to tuck into (not to mention the very cheap beer and wine!). The area is still unspoilt and has a rustic charm that is maintained through strict building regulations as this area is part of an national park.
Not a Club 18-20 resort, but if you want some where to cosy up and relax after a hard day on the slopes, Pine Ridge is the place for you.
The resort's exclusive ski shuttle bus service means that you can relax and look forward to a quick and easy journey to the slopes every day. For more details of skiing in the Borvets area, go to nearest airport is Sofia, with a number of low cost airlines, including Easy Jet and Whizz Air - as well as Bulgaria Air and British Airways flying regularly to Bulgaria's capital city. Pine Ridge is less than one hour by car. Airport transfer in a private taxi can be arranged on request (approximate cost £20).
Borovets is approximately 10km from Pine Ridge; Samakov is 8km and Sofia 66km.As well as its on site facilities, Pine Ridge affords easy access to shops and restaurants in Borovets and Samakov. Most places expect payment in cash; but there are plenty of bank tellers close to the ski stations. There is also a hotel swimming pool at the foot of the ski slope in Borovets that you can pay to use.
