Overview

Bansko is a modern resort situated in a beautiful old town at the bottom of the picturesque Pirin Mountains which offers all the amenities you would expect to find in the largest ski resort in Eastern Europe. The geographical location high in the mountain and the technical capability of the resort with its more than 160 snow cannons secure snow coverage from December to May. Knights Lodge is a new complex situated in the beautiful cobbled streets of the old town. It is less than an 8 minute walk to the gondola. The facilities at Knights Lodge include jacuzzi, sauna, massage centre and gym as well as the Sir Galahad bar on the ground floor which often has live music and serves traditional hot food.

Stayed for 2 weeks in June 2010. Initially impressed by decor, location and price. However,we were told we could not enter our own code into apartment safe but had to use the managements code. Subsequently safe security was breached and a significant amount of money went missing. Electrical fixtures soon started to malfunction and suuplementary laundry services which we purchased were of an appalling standard. In addition, previous apartment damage was concealed from us at initial inspection. We reported it and the managing couple acknowledged that it pre-dated our stay. They later demanded 120 euros from our deposit. When we attempted reason we were met with abuse. Bansko is a lovely resort and we will not be put off returning by this. However we will not be returning to this establishment.
