Purpose built Gasthof in 1890, boasting 8 Guest rooms, 7 of which have ensuite facilities.
Gasthof Dorfwirt has a cosy ambiance providing a perfect location for a wide variety of interests and activities, whether your preference is a quite getaway for a weekend, a stop over en route, a family break or an action filled adrenalin rush for you and your friends, you will find our villiage of Kostendorf the perfect base from which to indulge yourself.

We are located within easy reach of the Nassfeld Skiing resort, the Pressegersee lakes, numerous Hiling and Mountain Biking Trails, fantastic Motorcycling roads and scenery, Horse Riding, Skating, Fishing, Cycling, Swimming, Sightseeing and Shopping, with the towns of Villach and Hermagor being only a short drive away.
For those with a more cosmopolitan drive, you will find Italy and Slovenia are quite literally a five minute drive away, which in themselves open up another vast cultural experience to add to your already overflowing senses, and when your day is done you can relax the night away in our in house bar.

In short you will find it hard to find a better placed location from which to mount your daily expeditions from.

Located in Kostendorf a small village next to St Stefan Im Gailtal, we are within 10 minutes from Hermagor, 30 Minutes for Villach, 5 minutes for Italy and Slovenia, 45 minutes for Kalgenfurt, 25 Minutes for Nassfeld, 5 minutes for Pressegersee and 30 minutes for Kotsach Mauthen.



As a very popular area year round, it is very easy to locate all manner of bars and restaurants througout the Gailtal Valley, the main shops and bars/restaurants can be found nearest in Hermagor together with the main public facilities such as Hospitals, Dentists, Police and such like, there is a Doktors Surgery located some 1.5km from here and every village in Austria has its own fire service.

Centrally Heated Rooms with Double Glazing, en suite facilities in all bar one of our rooms, en suite typically comprising of Wash Basin, Mirror with Shaving Socket, WC, Radiator, and Shower, (one room has Bath and Shower). Our basic Room comprising no Ensuite uses a shared Toilet and Shower which can be found a few feet away from the room itself. All rooms have supplied towels for our guests.



Traditional Austrian Breakfast is served between 07.30am and 09.00am in our dedicated Breakfast Room which has fantastic views of the Italian/Austrian Border to the south.



We have a Games Room where you can relax and indulge in a quick round of Pool or Darts or even Cards, Backgammon, Chess or many other games.



Our Public Bar open nightly from 17.00 to 22.00 provides a lovely spot from which to engage the friendly locals. A full range of Alcoholic, Non-Alcoholic, hot and cold drinks for Adults and Children is available.
