Location & area

Playa del Coco was a sleepy fishing village until a few years back, when luxury resorts like the Four Seasons came to nearby towns. Since then, it has become a meeting point between the surrounding resort spots and has grown into its own tourism destination. The Guanacaste Province boasts excellent weather, scenic landscapes and an International Airport.



A variety of tourism related businesses exist on both sides of Main Street, including surf shops, restaurants, scuba diving, sport fishing and gift shops. There's even a small Casino in the center of town. The beach in downtown Coco provides beautiful views of several islands and a bay scattered with local fishing boats. Better swimming beaches are a short drive away, with some incredible islands with white sand beaches a quick boat ride off the coast. The Villa is about a 10 minute walk from downtown and the beach.

We went over-the-top with our swimming pool and lounge area. For starters, we hired local pool legend Joan Roca, who has designed luxury swimming areas for many celebrity pleasure homes in Costa Rica, including Giselle and Mel Gibson.



The result was a gigantic infinity pool would be generous for most small hotels. An upper sitting pool with Jacuzzi jets which gently cascades into a lower, larger pool. A small ledge behind the waterfall provides a grotto sitting space where guests can let the water rush over them with an added sense of privacy.

The swim up bar is an excellent place to sip a tropical cocktail while enjoying the stunning ocean views. The same bar is also accessible from a dry sitting area with a rustic rancho roof that offers shade on a typical sunny Guanacaste day. Guests can enjoy sun, shade and a refreshing dip by the large terrace and sun deck, all while being attended to by our staff.

Rates are per person, per night and include 3 meals daily, snacks and non-alcoholic drinks. Alcoholic beverages can be provided and chilled prior to arrival for a modest 10% cork fee. We believe this is superior to the “all-inclusive” model which encourages low-end liquor, stingy pours and punishes those guests who are not heavy drinkers.We instead prefer to take your custom drink order prior to arrival. Whether you like champagne or Budweiser, our guest services team will have it ready and serve it to you ice cold. Just let us know your group’s preferences and we can provide you a quote in addition to our nightly rate. If at any time during your stay your guests require more libations, we will run out and procure them ASAP!
