Overview
Papaya House is a comfortable vacation home located in Tunapuna, a bustling suburban town eight miles east of the capital, Port of Spain, with much of its activity still centred around the market and town centre.
There are four spacious, air-conditioned bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, an open plan living/dining and kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped, dining table seats eight, and the lounge is bright and airy. There is cable tv and high speed internet. The swimming pool and garden make this the ideal holiday accommodation. There is parking on the property and laundry facilities available.
The house manager lives in an apartment adjoining the house, but with a separate entrance. He will meet you at the airport and is conveniently nearby should you have any queries or require any assistance with your plans. He can also be hired (with his car) at TT$350 (about US$58) per day to be your personal driver and tour guide.

The house is within a 10 minute walk of the market, a pharmacy, a small supermarket and the University of the West Indies campus. Within a 10 minute drive you will find an 18 hole golf course and country club, and a shopping mall with over 100 shops and restaurants.
There are numerous activities to do and sights to see on a holiday in Trinidad, from swimming in limestone caves, picnicking at a river, watching leatherback turtles nesting and later the hatchlings emerge, investigating the natural asphalt lake, visiting the world famous Asa Wright Nature Centre, hiking to many waterfalls, relaxing on the beaches, watching the Scarlet Ibis at sunset, taking a tour to see the Red Howler Monkeys, and kayaking in the sea, to the renowned carnival and it's associated activities.
Within just a 10 minute drive of Papaya House, or a comfortable 45 minute uphill walk, you can reach Mt St Benedict, a Benedictine monastery located 800ft above the plains with wonderful views to the western coast. Further 20 min walk uphill and you will reach the ruins of the original monastery.

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud
It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
