We are a family run guest house offering personalized service in clean and comfortable surroundings. We are situated in a residential district of the capital city of Port of Spain. A 45 minute drive brings you from the airport to us. Downtown Port of Spain is 10 minutes away. The Queen's Park Savannah which is the "Home of Carnival" is two blocks away from us. This large park is ideal for jogging, picnicing, visiting the zoo, flying kites or just taking in the cool Caribbean breezes. Taxi service is at our doorstep. A bank is opposite and many local shops/groceries around the corner. Private and public medical facilities are nearby. We are truly ideally situated.

Amenities & services

Friendy, helpful and courteous staff greets you and ensures your stay is comfortable. Rooms are equipped with side tables, lamps, alarm-clock/radio, cable television with 45 channels and towels. There are seven rooms - 3 have en suite bathrooms. Three rooms can accommodate three persons, one is single occupancy and the other three double occupancy with either double beds or twin beds. Rooms are cleaned daily and laundry facilities are available at extra cost. Wireless high speed internet keeps you connected to family, friends or business partners. A business centre with fax and photocopying services is located on the premises. Airport transfers and taxi service are available. Tours, Hikes and visits to Tobago can be arranged. We do make special concessions for long term rentals especially for students and visiting interns. Thanna's is also ideal for groups, who are coming on vacation or for a wedding or family reunion, and who wish to occupy the entire guest house. Special rates apply.

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud

It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:

  • It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
  • If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
  • Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
