This is your property ?

Villa Columns is located on the northern shore of Jamaica's "gold coast" 6-miles east of romantic Montego Bay! The area of Spring Farms, one of the best in Montego Bay, overlooking the Half Moon resort.
This phenomenal estate has a private heli pad, gorgeous pool area , wondeful chef and the list goes on. Set on 5 acres of beautifully manicured land, filled with all manner of fruit trees and tropical flowers and perched 150 feet above the Caribbean but just 8 kilometers east of Montego Bay Airport, Jamaica Columns is a modern great house in the true Jamaican tradition. It lies close to all the multitude of activities there are to do in Jamaica, golf, fishing, snorkeling, night life, duty free shopping, you name it, you will find it close at hand.
The Great House is two stories tall. The main floor consists of the entrance foyer with a soaring 30' ceiling and sweeping staircase leading up to the second floor. To the east is the Living Room, 24' by 40', where you'll find seating for 12 and a card table for 4. The television with cable is located in this space. The 14' ceilings float above, and with windows to the south, facing the mountains, and the north, facing the seas, the views and breeze are sublime. Through the foyer is the formal Dining Room with seating for 12 at 2 tables. There are 5 double French doors which open onto the porches towards the sea to allow the breeze through. To the west is the less formal Outdoor Dining Room, the location where most guests chose to eat their meals. This informal space allows you to look out to sea and enjoy the colors of the Caribbean, or, at night, the passing lights of cruise ships. To the east of the formal Dining Room and north of the Living Room, you will find the Sitting Porch, 16 by 40, where again the family and most guests will spend their social time. With seating for 9, this is an area in which to relax, read a book, gaze out to sea and have evening cocktails. The Kitchen is found beyond the dining rooms, and the Staff Quarters are located beyond the western side of the house.
Up the stairway, you will find 2 huge bedrooms and the sun porch. Each bedroom in the Great House is about 24' by 40' and each has attached bathrooms.
The East Bedroom consists of one king size bed, a beautiful antique Jamaican bed that sits a little high - there is a step stool to help step up to the bed), one double bed, a sitting area along with dressers and desk. There is over 20' of closet space, a double vanity along with tub and toilet.
The West Bedroom has 2 double beds, several armchairs and about 15' of closet. The bathroom has a large walk-in shower in place of a tub. Both bedrooms offer views south to Flower Hill and north over the Caribbean Sea. The bedrooms are air conditioned, each bedroom with its own controls, but the nightly prevailing breezes blow through the rooms and keep the bedrooms comfortably cool for sleeping. In the morning you will likely awake to the sounds of green parrots and doves. Step through the French doors at the top of the stairs and you will find yourself on the sun porch which runs the length of the house and affords a terrific view of the sea. Beautiful in the early morning or late in the day, it is an ideal spot to stretch, meditate and quietly enjoy the view and surroundings.
The Guest House that is rented together with a villa, sits to the east of the great house and is accessed through the Living Room via a breezeway. There are 2 bedrooms in the Guest House:
The North Bedroom is furnished with a king size bed, which is hard to leave in the morning as there is a large bay window offering views of the Caribbean while lying in bed. Also, there are double French doors leading out toward the Pool House.
The South Bedroom contains 2 double beds and also has French doors leading to the Pool House. There is one bathroom in the guest wing for the guests of both the North and South Bedrooms.
The oval-shaped pool is approximately 20' by 40' and, due to the slope in the yard, elevated at one end - offering exposure to wonderful breezes and views down over the Half Moon Golf Course. The Pool House sits to the south of the pool and is a shaded area that is an ideal location for lunch or afternoon snacks. It is a wonderful place to hold a wedding reception or any events.
The Staff
There is the cook, the housekeeper and two grounds persons. The cook will work with you to coordinate meals and any special dietary needs or concerns. The staff can accompany you on shopping trips to the nearby stores and markets. The housekeeper will take care of the cleaning of the living space and will also take care of any laundry needs you may have.

Very regretful bride

The photos of this site are misleading. While the views are beautiful, the house itself is a lot older than pictured and poorly maintained. The owner was helpful when we were considering renting several properties and had not yet made a decision. The service level dropped off drastically as soon as the rental was paid in full in advance of our arrival. When we showed up at the property, the staff was completely uninformed of our rental period and the fact that our wedding was to occur on site days later, despite the fact that we booked the venue over 6 months in advance and paid $4000. The grass was uncut and full of weeds; there was a gaping hole in the living room ceiling; there was water damage in several rooms; the house smelled moldy. The couches were torn. The linens were old and rough. There was wood rot in at least one room, such that you could clearly see outside from inside in an area that was not intended for such exposure. The water does not heat up; expect lukewarm baths at best. All of this 2 days prior to my future in laws who were visiting Jamaica for the first time were expected to stay in the house. Needless to say it was a nightmare. The owners did not return my frantic phone calls until a week later. In an area where you have several options for accommodations with the very same advertised amenities, I would recommend staying elsewhere.
