Overview

Unique in style, our traditional Thai village house is great value for money.
Beautifully maintained. Wooden floors, walls,& doors throughout (except for the bathroom which is modern) Relax in the knowledge that the owners ( Jo & Neil) will meet you when you arrive at Zen House, as they live close by & will introduce you to the house, & help you to become familiar with it's quirky characterZen House will suit the more adventurous in spirit, looking to experience the real Thailand.Wall & ceiling fans circulate the air- no air-con. Being a traditional house there is no glass on the windows, just wooden shutters. Considering the quiet area it is amazing that within minutes walk we have a wide range of good restaurants. Ranging from local Thai food, to Italian, & great vegetarian to be had at Yoga Thailand The kitchen in the house is simple but effective, we have tried to make it a home away from home. There is a toaster, kettle, good range of utensils, crockery, glasses etc & a 2 ring gas top (as used by most of Thailand to create their magnificent meals!)No oven.There is seating for 4 at the kitchen table
There is one bedroom with a door that closes, & this holds a double bed-just!
The other double bed is within the body of the house & hidden by an ornamental teak decorative carved screenBoth beds have mosquito nets above them & you can tuck yourselves in at night.A dressing room of sorts has been created, with covered hanging space, towel rails & full height teak mirror on a standThe seating area is equipped with a wonderful local Thai daybed, we have added lots of cushions for comfort,in addition there are random chairs, & Thai floor cushions for sprawling on whilst watching TV, reading or listening to music. There is a selection of games, novels & DVD'sA little tropical garden is a great place to sit & watch the world go by

Location & area

Zen House is on the southern coast of Koh Samui, in the heart of a tiny Thai village. Literally minutes walk from the glorious Bang Kao Bay.

The Bay is wonderful for beachcombing & relaxing. The sea there is not ideal for swimming, the nearest recommended beach with all year round good swimming is about 15 minutes drive away at Lipa Noi
