Overview
Superbly situated in Ohakune township, on the fringe of Tongariro National Park and Mt Ruapehu, Rocky Mountain Chalets is an exclusive, alpine-style development consisting of 42 beautifully appointed stand-alone dwellings, consisting of either two or three bedrooms and depending on the configuration will sleep comfortably up to 7 guests. Each cosy chalet is beautifully appointed with quality fixtures and furnishings, full size kitchen and each features drying cupboard and outside secure storage lockers in each covered carport. For those who want to spoil themselves our presidential chalet offers 3 bedrooms, higher levels of furnishings, a kitchen the seems to be out of House and Garden, cosy fireplace and best of all your own private spa.
For those who want to wind down after a day up the mountain, our Recreational Chalet has two spas a sauna, PLUS conference facilities for up to 30 people. To keep you further entertained, we also offer SKY TV in all chalets. Also please note that for your comfort ALL chalets at Rocky Mountain are designated NON smoking

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud
It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
