Overview
McMaster cottage provides luxury accommodation set in a beautiful cottage garden within the park like grounds of Tuhitarata. Upon arrival, enjoy the complimentary bottle of Martinborough wine on the verandah while enjoying the beauty and birdsong of the pristine 500 year old native bush that can be accessed at the bottom of the cottage garden.
McMasters is an historic villa built on the Tuhitarata station in the 1860s. It offers the perfect atmosphere to relax and unwind, decorated with reference to its age and character including beautiful antique furnishings. It enjoys all day sun and is warmed by an open fire in the lounge and a wood burner in the farmhouse kitchen. The living areas provide spacious accommodation. There is the luxury of a deep French style bath in the tiled bathroom with its expansive views. The bedrooms are furnished with antique styled beds and quality linen.
In the morning enjoy a complimentary breakfast, choosing continental style or freshly laid Tuhitarata eggs, local bacon and other seasonal produce. McMasters offers many different leisure options. Close to Martinborough (one of NZ's premiere boutique wine growing regions that specialises in pinot noir), with its restaurants, cafes, boutique shops, cinema and vineyards, it also has easy access to Greytown, Lake Ferry, Ngawi, Cape Palliser and to the seal colony. There are also swimming, boating, hunting and fishing options on the door step. Alternatively simply relax with a book and a glass of good wine.

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud
It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
