Overview
A beautifully restored turn of the century villa in the heart of the wine growing region of Martinborough New Zealand. A stroll to an 18 hole golf course, vineyards, cafes, bars and restaurants. Fishing and hunting trips can be arranged.
Countryhouse was originally built in Fielding in the late 1800's. owners found it for sale for removal in late 2002 and bought it because of its originality and preservation. They then found a lovely 2.5-acre site in Martinborough in a beautiful country setting. The property next door is a gardener's paradise and we share the protection and attraction of a most wonderful garden. The house was moved there in February 2003. An architect was consulted to design a wrap around veranda and to extend the master bedroom to meet the wrap around veranda. Bi fold doors were strategically placed to take advantage of the sun rise and sunset and to offer ventilation during the hot Martinborough summers.
Restoration was aimed at featuring the lovely original timbers in the entire house and the finished effect is warm and soothing. There is always a place to shelter from winds to enjoy the local wines while watching the sunsets or breakfast outdoors while enjoying the early morning sun on the open back porch.

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud
It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
