Overview

Our B&B will delight birdwatchers, or those just looking for a quiet nights sleep, 10 minutes to Invercargill city, we are located within easy distance of Fiordland, the Catlins coast, airport and Stewart Island ferry . Perfect for overnight accommodation before or following Stewart Island Kiwi and Ulva Island.

The house is located on a privately owned, protected forest & wetland reserve, well known as the easiest place to see fernbirds, bowdleria punctata in New Zealand. An easy track and boardwalk from the house through the reserve makes bird watching easy. Tuis in abundance, Bellbirds, Grey Warblers, Fantails easily seen, Shining Cuckoo a summer visitor. Take a walk from the house to the nearby estuary, Royal Spoonbills and many wading bird species can be seen. Sandy Point reserve with walking tracks through rare Totara dune forest is nearby.
