Overview
Facilitating Vedic India experience under one roof
Salient Features:
Location 500 metres before Bhimtal lake on the highway to Haldwani. Vaastu plot with Adi Kailash in the east, Kharkotak range in the north and the holy Gargi river in the south. This plot is part of the legendary Chyawan Rishi Ashram. Even today there is a thick water stream just across, known as the spring of Chyawan Rishi. This place also corresponds to the description of the ashram in various Puranaas.
Area SHRI KAILASHMUKHI spreads over 3600 square yards.
Area Utilization ¼ th area i.e.900 square yards has been used for construction. The balance ¾ th area
2700 square yards left open for trees and crop cultivation and landscaping.
Style of construction - The retention walls were made without disturbing the hill and without use of stones, thus avoiding unnecessary mining or landslide. Relatively inexpensive rcc tie beam technology was used, which not only provided greater strength on account of its homogeneity, but also was quick to complete.
The terrace step style building construction has been done using fly ash bricks, 1/3 weight of conventional bricks. Very light weight pataals (pre cast 24 x 30 slabs on wiremesh frame) were used to make ceilings.
Contribution to nature On a plot where only grass was grown for commercial purpose and trees were prevented from taking root, since 1998' more than four hundred trees have been planted / nurtured. Mostly those which are very useful for soil conservation and environmental reasons. Special attention has been given to Tulsi, Bel, Neem, Anwla, Mango and Banana trees.
Employment generated Since 1998 over twenty thousand labour wages have been generated in an economically backward area, with hardly any earning opportunities. The resort is generating a direct employment to about ten persons.
The Satvik, Bhimtal, Himalayas, has been constructed in step terrace style construction.
The Satvik covers seven khand, i.e. floors. Each khand has been named after a particular chakra', a yogic nomenclature for energy junctions in the body.
The Yogis believe that spiritual energy is stored at the base of the spine resembling a coiled serpent. When aroused the spiritual energy travels up by uncoiling and passes through five intermediate points to reach the crown of the head. This process is referred as the awakening of the kundalini. Kundalini is the intangible, invisible path of the energy movement.
The 1st chakra at the base of the spine is called Muladhar'. Corresponding to that chakra The Satvik's 1st khand is called Muladhar', which houses the herbal inhalation chamber for the Agnihotra programme.
The 2nd chakra just above Muladhar is called Swadishthan'. Corresponding to that chakra The Satvik's 2nd khand is called Swadishthan, which houses the reception, office and consulting chamber.
The 3rd chakra is located near the navel and called Manipur'. Corresponding to that chakra The Satvik's
3rd khand is called Manipur, which houses the Rasoi, i.e. kitchen and Bhojanalya, i.e. the dining hall.
The 4th chakra is located near the heart and called Anahat'. Corresponding to that chakra The Satvik's 4th khand is called Anahat, which houses the four suites namely, Mitraya, Raveya, Suryaya and Bhanve.
The 5th chakra is located in the throat and called Vishuddha'. Corresponding to that chakra The Satvik's 5th khand is called Vishuddha, which houses the four suites namely, Khagaya, Pushney, Hiranya and Marichaye.
The 6th chakra is located between the eyebrows and called Agya'. Corresponding to that chakra The Satvik's 6th khand is called Agya, which houses the four suites namely, Adityaya, Savitre, Arkaya and Bhaskaraya.
The 7th and topmost chakra is located on top of the head and called Sahasraar'. Corresponding to that chakra The Satvik's 7th khand is called Sahasraar, which houses the yogalaya, literally a meeting/ conference hall, but which also doubles up as a place to learn and practice yogasana and pranayama.
The 12 suites at The Satvik have been named after the 12 poses of Surya Namaskaar, literally salutations
to the Sun, but also a unique yogic exercise, which covers all the basic yogic postures.
The first of the four suites are housed in Anahat Khand. The second four suites are housed in
Vishuddha Khand. The third four suites are house in Agya Khand.
