Staying at the city center means you'll save time and money going to most places around town. It's a 10-minute walk to the JingAn Temple station of Subway Line #2, which takes you to the People's Square, PuDong, and Changning/ Gubei. The area has a good mix of western restaurants/ cafes and local Chinese eateries; 2 supermarkets are also within walking distance.
